What is it?

Whiplash, sometimes referred to as Whiplash Associated Disorders (WAD), is an injury of the neck caused by a sudden acceleration and deceleration movement. The most common way people think about getting whiplash is due to a car accident, however, you can also get it from hits in sports and falls. The acceleration-deceleration movements are sudden and uninhibited which is why they are hard on the joints and muscles in your neck and injury occurs.

How can it affect me?

Whiplash, or WAD, can cause a number of symptoms such as:

  • Neck pain
  • Headache
  • Stiffness
  • Reduced range of motion
